Memorial Day

Romans 5:6-8 (NIV) - 6  You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7  Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Today is Memorial Day.
This is the day our nation remembers those who died defending our nation.
Memorial Day helps us remember the high cost of the freedoms we enjoy in the United States of America.
As Christians we also remember the high cost of our spiritual freedom.
Christ died so that, through faith in his finished work, we can live in the spiritual freedom God desires for us.
We had a visible reminder of Christ’s death yesterday when we shared in the Lord’s Supper.
Today and every day, let’s be thankful for those who died so we can live in a free nation.
Also, let’s be thankful for our Savior, who died so that all people would have the opportunity to live in spiritual freedom.

Happy Memorial Day,
Bro. Rob
