Proclaiming Christ

Paul came to the church in Corinth “in weakness, in fear, and much trembling.”

Paul said that he didn’t come with fancy speech and persuasive words of wisdom.

Instead, he came as a demonstration of the Spirit’s power.

Paul came to Corinth for one reason: “to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2).

Paul’s message was simple: Don’t place your faith in human wisdom, but only on God’s power.

God has demonstrated his power repeatedly throughout history, and he still does.

Perhaps his greatest and most important moment of power was raising Jesus from the dead.

Jesus’ resurrection not only demonstrated his great power, but also his great love.

If you’ve never experienced God’s love before, please consider this: “God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

Jesus died on that cross for our sin.  Because of his love for us, God raised his son from the dead, giving us the opportunity for life.

Human wisdom can’t explain that.

Trust in him today, and experience his life-giving, life-changing love.

In Christ,
Jonathan
