Resurrection Fire

Luke 24:32 (NIV)  - They asked each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?"

Two disciples met Jesus on the road to a village named Emmaus.

Scripture says they were kept from recognizing him.

They did, however, recognize Christ after he ate with them.

Jesus then disappeared from them.

After Jesus disappeared, “They asked each other, ‘Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?’" (Luke 24:32 NIV)

I believe their burning hearts came from identifying an authenticity in Christ’s teaching.

Even though they did not yet recognize him, his teaching resonated deep within them.

Christ’s followers today still have burning hearts when we read Scripture.

We accept Scripture as God’s Word.

It is true.

It is life changing.

It shows us the only way to salvation.

Scripture still sets hearts on fire!

My prayer for you today is that your heart is burning brightly from spending time in God’s Word.

Expecting God’s Best,
Bro. Rob
