The Supper

In Luke 22:7-23 we read the account of the Passover meal Jesus observed with his disciples.

Jesus told his disciples that he earnestly desired to eat this Passover with them before he suffered.

Jesus knowingly broke bread with Judas, who would soon betray him for money.

Jesus would also eat with Peter, the disciple who would deny him three times in less than 48 hours.

What does it say about Jesus that he shared his Passover meal with the man who would turn him over to the authorities and with the one who would deny knowing him?

Even in the face of betrayal, Jesus did not sin.

How are we inclined to treat those who are unkind to us?

How do we respond to those who compete with us, judge our parenting choices, or who regularly slight us in some way?

Ask God to help you wisely and humbly love and serve others like Jesus did, even when it seems impossible.

In Christ,
Jonathan
