Look Beyond Appearance

Genesis 13:10-11 (NIV) - 10  Lot looked up and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan was well watered, like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, toward Zoar. (This was before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.) 11  So Lot chose for himself the whole plain of the Jordan and set out toward the east. The two men parted company:

Quarreling began between Lot’s herdsmen and Abram’s herdsmen.

Abram took the initiative to end the quarreling with a generous offer to Lot.

He told Lot to survey the surrounding countryside and go anywhere he desired.

Lot, based on its beautiful appearance, chose the “whole plain of the Jordan”.

He would soon learn that the beautiful plain was home to Sodom’s sin.

This reminds us that appearances can be deceiving.

When we make decisions, it is essential to look deeper than appearances to discern God’s will.

My prayer for you today is that your decisions are based on God’s counsel, not simply on appearance.

Expecting God’s Best,
Bro. Rob
