Love always trusts
1 Corinthians 13:7 (NIV) - It [love] always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love is not doubtful or suspicious of others. Love leads us to trust others and entrust ourselves to others.
Love gives the benefit of doubt to others.
Love trusts the good intentions of others.
Love does things to develop trust in the relationship.
Love looks for the way to restore trust when trust is broken.
John MacArthur wrote, “Love is a harbor of trust. When that trust is broken, love’s first reaction is to heal and restore.” (The MacArthur New Testament Commentary, 1 Corinthians)
My prayer for you today is that you can be counted on to demonstrate trusting love to those around you.
