Good Works as a Witness

Good Works as a Witness

We’ve “talked” a lot this week about good works.

What is our motivation for doing good?  To please God?  To make ourselves feel better about ourselves?  To prove our faith?

Matthew 5:16 gives us a great reason to do good works and to do them well.

Jesus has just called his followers salt and light, but he ends his thought with a great command.

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.”

Our good works serve as a witness to those who are lost!

Whether we are working at our jobs, doing hurricane recovery, or just being friendly, we have the opportunity to show lost people that we belong to Jesus.

Good works break down barriers and open doors, so remember: Let us not get tired of doing good.  You never know how God will use you to reach the lost.

In Christ,
Jonathan
