Serve Well

Serve Well
Galatians 6:9

The picture of a servant is not always a comfortable one.

A servant is someone who has forsaken their own needs to fulfill the needs of another.

Of course, Jesus is the ultimate example of servanthood.  He served His Father by serving people.  He healed people who needed it, he fed people who were hungry, he invited social pariahs to have a relationship with him, and ultimately, he gave up his life to save people who couldn’t save themselves.

In Philippians 2:5 we are told to “adopt the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus.”  Paul then shares exactly how Jesus served God.

Jesus served people to bring them to God.

Galatians 6:9-10 says, “Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.  Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith.”

May we serve one another by doing good and loving well.

In Christ,
Jonathan
