Confession

Be gracious to me, God, according to your faithful love; according to your abundant compassion, blot out my rebellion.  Completely wash away my guilt and cleanse me from my sin.  For I am conscious of my rebellion, and my sin is always before me. — Psalm 51:1-3

David had committed adultery and murder.  The prophet Nathan confronted David with his sins, which David confessed.

Psalm 51 is the result of David’s confession.  David pleads with God for grace.  He seeks forgiveness for his awful sins.

We all have sinned.  We all have done things we aren’t proud of.  In verse 3, David admits his rebellion.

David’s example for us is to seek the face of a gracious and forgiving God.

David sought God’s forgiveness because he knew that God alone could cleanse him of his sins.  He asks God to wash him whiter than snow.

Do you have unconfessed sins?  Do you need to experience God’s grace?  David prayed, “God, create a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

God will not only forgive you, but He will give you a brand-new life.

Confess your sins to Him, and experience God’s grace today.

In Christ,
Jonathan
