Fear

Fear

There are many things in this world of which we are afraid.  Many are afraid of death.  Personally, I’m afraid of snakes, lightning, and yes, balloons.

David wrote Psalm 27 from a season of trouble in his life.

Psalm 27 is a song of triumph and confidence.  While his circumstances may have been perilous, David was confident, not in himself, but in the Lord.

The Lord is our light (Psalm 27:1).  He provides light in times of darkness.

He provides hope in times of hopelessness.

David asks, “Whom should I fear?”

The Lord is our salvation.  He gives us life where there is death.

David may have been facing a deadly situation, but he had confidence in the salvation of the Lord.

David still asks, “Whom should I fear?”

It is evident that David was not afraid of death because he was confident in the Lord’s strength.

While fear is all around, let us be led by David.  Let us see God as our light and our salvation and let us be confident of his love and strength.

In Christ,

Jonathan
