Psalm 74:12 (NIV) – “But you, O God, are my king from of old; you bring salvation upon the earth”.
The first part of this psalm reflects despair at the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple.
However, in this verse, the psalmist’s attitude changes. He now expresses confidence in God because God is his King.
There are times in our lives when we feel discouraged. Maybe even despair.
Maybe you are facing one of those times now.
In our times of discouragement, we are encouraged by reminding ourselves that God is still our King.
He is the King over every circumstance in our lives. We can trust him.
In Psalm 103:19 we read, “The LORD has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all.” (NIV)
My prayer for you today is that you allow God, not your circumstances, to rule your life.
