Self Control
Self-control
Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV) - 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Self-control means mastery over our desires and passions.
Paul, in 1 Corinthians 9:24-27, compares Christians to athletes and says we are to exercise self-control in all things.
Paul also included self-control as he spoke about faith in Christ as recorded in Acts 24:24-25.
Max Lucado wrote this about self-control: “I am a spiritual being... After this body is dead, my spirit will soar. I refuse to let what will rot rule the eternal. I choose self-control. I will be drunk only by joy. I will be impassioned only by my faith. I will be influenced only by God. I will be taught only by Christ.”
My prayer for you today is that you are living in the Holy Spirit’s fruit of self-control.
Expecting God’s Best,
Bro Rob
