The Fruit of the Spirit: Goodness
Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV) - 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Goodness is hard to define but we know it when we see it.
I have read that goodness is a generosity that springs from kindness.
Christians display the character of Christ when we are good to others even when it is not required or deserved.
Referring to God, the psalmist wrote “You are good, and what you do is good; teach me your decrees”. (Psalm 119:68, NIV)
I am glad we serve a good God. It is a privilege to share his goodness with others.
My prayer for you today is that you are good to those around you.
