The Fruit of the Spirit: Love

The Fruit of the Spirit: Love

There were different Greek words translated as love in the New Testament. The Greek word used in Galatians 5:22 is agape.

Agape describes God’s love for us. It is limitless. It is unconditional. It is pure. It is totally concerned with the welfare of others.

The greatest picture of agape is seen on the cross where Christ gave himself for our salvation.

We read in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (NIV)

Through the Holy Spirit we are enabled to agape others.

The Bible Knowledge Commentary says, “Such self-sacrificing love that sent Christ to die for sinners is the kind of love that believers who are Spirit-controlled manifest.”

My prayer for you today is that you agape others.

Expecting God’s Best,
Bro Rob
