Galatians 1:10 (NIV) - Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.
Believers desire is to please God
Paul wrote to the Galatian churches to correct their legalism.
Although Paul loved the Galatians his primary goal in this situation was to please God. That is why he corrected the Galatian Christians.
Paul teaches us the importance of pleasing God. He said in 2 Corinthians 5:9-10 (NIV), “9 So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.”
We love others and want them to be happy. But, if we must make the choice, let’s choose to please God.
R.C. Sproul said, “What higher approval could a person enjoy than to know that what he or she has done is pleasing to God?”
My prayer for you today is that you desire to please God.
Expecting God’s Best,
Bro Rob
