Our Greatest Hope

Our Greatest Hope

There are many definitions for the word hope.  Miriam-Webster’s first definition is “desire accompanied by expectation of or belief in fulfillment.”

When we hope in things, we are really saying, “This can change my life for the better.”

We hope for all sorts of things that will make our life seem better, easier, and even longer.  We hope we get a good job, for a good family, even for our sports team to win.

In Paul’s letter to Titus, he reveals what the hope of a believer is: “…in the hope of eternal life that God, who cannot lie, promised before time began.”  Our hope is eternal life!  Our hope is eternity in the presence of God!

The current events in our nation and across the world seem to be a hopeless situation.  Revelation 21-22 gives us a beautiful glimpse into eternity with God through Christ, and the promise of Jesus is, “Look, I am coming soon!”

With HOPE,
Jonathan
