Continually

Continually

Daniel 6:10 (NIV) - Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.

Darius was now king of Babylon. Daniel excelled in his duties, so Darius made plans to set him over the whole kingdom.

The other officials were jealous of Daniel’s success. To trap Daniel, they convinced Darius to issue a decree that no one should pray to anyone but him.

Daniel, however, continued to pray only to God.

Because of Daniel’s disobedience the king was forced to throw Daniel into the lion’s den.

The following morning Darius went to see what happened to Daniel.

In Daniel 6:19-20, we read, “19 At the first light of dawn, the king got up and hurried to the lions’ den. 20 When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguished voice, "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?" (NIV)

I find it interesting that a pagan king admitted Daniel continually served God, even when faced with the lion’s den.

My prayer for you today is that you are continually serving God.

Expecting God’s Best,
Bro Rob
