Resolved

Daniel 1:8 (NIV) -But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.

When they were living in Babylon, King Nebuchadnezzar assigned Daniel, along with his three friends, royal food and wine.

Daniel asked permission from the chief steward to refuse this food and wine because accepting them would contradict God’s commands.

Daniel was resolved to remain faithful to God’s laws even in King Nebuchadnezzar’s palace.

God granted favor to Daniel so his request was granted by the chief official in the palace.

All of us face situations in our lives when we must choose between following God or something else. You may be facing one of those situations today.

I encourage you to follow in Daniel’s footsteps and resolve to follow God.

Psalm 119:106 (NIV) - I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws.

My prayer for you today is that you are resolved to follow God.
