Confess

Confess
Romans 10:9

After I have admitted I am a sinner and believe Christ is the only Savior, I must confess Christ as my Savior.

In other words, it is not enough to believe Christ is the Savior, I must confess him as my Savior.

Let me share these verses with you. Each one calls us to personally confess Christ as our Savior.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV) 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

Romans 10:9 (NIV) That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 10:13 (NIV) "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

When I confess Christ as my Savior, I will begin living for him instead of living for myself. The Bible calls this repentance.

If you want to receive Christ as your Savior, I will lead you in a prayer right now. My prayer will not give you eternal life. But if you pray this prayer, or a similar prayer in your own words, asking Christ to be your Savior, then I believe Scripture promises you eternal life.

Dear God, I admit I am a sinner. I understand the wages of my sin is eternal death. I know there is nothing I can do myself to receive forgiveness for my sin. I believe Christ is the only Savior. I believe he died on the cross for my sin. I confess Christ as my Savior. I ask his forgiveness for my sin. I desire to live for him. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Expecting God’s Best,
Bro Rob
