God Gives Joy

God Gives Joy

In this week’s devotions we will focus on joy.

Scripture has many references to joy. God, Christ, the Holy Spirit, heaven and the early church are all associated with joy.

I agree with this quote from Richard Foster: “We should, to begin with, think that God leads a very interesting life, and that he is full of joy. Undoubtedly he is the most joyous being in the universe.”

This tells me that God wants us to experience joy in our lives.

Joy is a gift from God when we know him through faith in Christ our Savior.

Joy is a “State of delight and well-being that results from knowing and serving God.”(The Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary)

So joy is not the product of our circumstances. It is the result of God’s presence with us in our circumstances.

Psalm 5:11 (NIV) – “But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy.”

My prayer for you today is that you will live in the joy of the Lord and that you will share Christ with others so they can also experience God’s joy in their lives.

Expecting God’s Best,
Bro Rob
