John 21:18-19
Going Where You Do Not Want To Go

The resurrected Jesus told Peter that when he is old someone else will, “…lead you where you do not want to go.” (21:18)

I believe Jesus referred to death from crucifixion, by which Peter would die. One commentator said, “…he would stretch out his hands preparatory to being crucified and another would gird him and carry him out to a place of execution where he did not want to go.” (Broadman Bible Commentary, v.9, p.374)

Christ calls all of us to go where we do not want to go.  This means leaving our comfort zones. This is how we grow in Christ. This is where we share Christ. This is how we die for Christ.

Our Coronavirus situation is taking most of us to places we did not want to go.
I hope we are using these places to grow in the Lord, serve the Lord and share him with others.

My prayer for you today is that you allow Christ to take you to a place you do not want to go so that you will grow deeper in Him.

Expecting God’s Best,
Bro Rob
