John 21:15-17
Fulfill Your Calling
When the resurrected Christ appeared to Peter he gave Peter an assignment. He told Peter to “Feed my lambs” (21:15), “Take care of my sheep” (21:16) and “Feed my sheep” (21:17).
I don’t think there is a distinction between each of these. I agree with the commentator who wrote, “The point is that Jesus called Peter to shepherding rather than fishing. His future work would involve ministry to people.” (Holman New Testament Commentary, v.4, p.388)
Each believer has a calling from Christ
Our calling is to minister to people for Christ
Our calling is carried motivated by our love for Christ
Our calling is carried out in different ways (teacher, office worker…)
Our calling means sharing the good news of Christ
I am praying for you today as you fulfill your calling.
