The Betrayal

Mark 14:10-11 (CSB)—Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Jesus to them.  And when they heard this, they were glad and promised to give him money.  So he started looking for a good opportunity to betray him.

Judas went to the chief priests actively looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus.

This was not a betrayal of convenience that just fell into Judas’ lap.

It must have been devastating to Jesus that one of his Twelve would betray him.

Have you ever been betrayed by someone you deeply cared for?

If so, how did you feel in that moment?  About that person?  About yourself?  About God?

Ask God to show you if there is hurt, resentment, or any other feeling from that betrayal still hiding in your heart.

Ask God to heal you and show you other people who can help you heal.

Remember that God loves you and is with you.

His love for Judas didn’t change, and his love for you doesn’t change either.

In Christ,
Jonathan
