Our Mission

At East Pointe, we believe that discipleship is one of the fundamental roles of the Church. Our primary form of discipleship is in our Sunday School classes. Beginning at 9:30am on Sundays, you can experience fellowship amongst a community of believers, dynamic biblical teaching from our well-equipped teachers, and personal growth in your relationship with Jesus Christ. All of our Sunday School classes are welcoming and open to guests so come and join us this Sunday!

In addition to Sunday School, we offer life groups on Sunday nights from 6:00pm - 7:30pm. Life groups are designed for a deeper level of discipleship, growth, and interaction. If you are interested in learning more about the Bible or having your questions answered, life groups are perfect for you.

Life groups offered are:

  • AWANA (3 yrs old [by 9/1] - 4th grade) (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) Bible learning, games, fun. AWANA meets during the school year.
  • For Pre-teens (grades 5-6): S.W.A.T. Team (Spiritual Warfare And Tactics). To help students understand the physical, emotional, and social changes they are facing from a Christian viewpoint. Leaders are Jim and Renee Miller. S.W.A.T. Team meets during the school year.

  • Mere Christianity; Leaders: Erich Bergdolt/Terry Wilhite, Choir Room
  • C. S. Lewis’s Mere Christianity is a genuine, raw exposé on how Christianity answers humanity’s foundational questions of purpose and morality.
  • Praying with Paul: A Call to Spiritual Transformation
  • Leader: Bro. Rob Burns, Sanctuary
  • This study examines the biblical prayers of the Apostle Paul with the goal of transforming our own prayer lives.
  • Not a Fan; Leader: Cleve Gantt, home of the Gantts
  • This examines what it means to deny one’s self and truly follow Christ. Jesus issued a compelling and challenging call to follow Him 20 times in the NT. Not an invitation to become a fan of His but a call to follow—a call to be a completely committed follower. This group features six mini-movies that show what it means to follow Christ.
  • Hebrews: Race for Glory; Leader: Cynthia Wulff, Room 111
  • In Hebrews you will “find the encouragement you need to stay in the faith-race” and learn how to gloriously and triumphantly “reach the finish line by the power of Jesus Christ.”
  • War Room Bible Study; Leaders: Jaime and Nicole Hilbun, Room 202
  • The WAR ROOM Bible Study features five inspiring movie clips and five challenging scriptural lessons adapted from the feature film WAR ROOM.
  • If you are interested in participating in any of our discipleship ministries, feel free to contact us.
