Nothing Good

Nothing Good

What do you have that you consider “good?”

We would probably answer that question by naming things in our lives that we love: our families, our cars, our homes, our jobs, our friends, etc.

David wrote in Psalm 16:2, “I said to the Lord, ‘You are my Lord; I have nothing good besides you.’”

All of those things listed above are great, but in comparison to the Lord they are nothing.

David had become utterly dependent upon God, not for material things, but for life itself.

While these things are important to us, which is perfectly fine, they should never take the place of God in our lives.

If they do, we will find ourselves empty, always wanting more.

Make God your first priority.  Make Him your greatest love.  Make Him your greatest treasure.

In Christ,
Jonathan
